Hydraulic Machines
Hydraulic machines which used liquid fluid power to perform work.
Where are hydraulic systems found in everyday life?
- Gasoline pumps. They make use of hydraulics to draw the fuel from their storage tank to the vehicle.
- Cars. A hydraulic brake circuit operates a car's brakes on all four wheels.
- Vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Dishwashers.
- Construction machines.
- Airplanes.
- Amusement park rides.
- Theatrical presentations.
Classification of Hydraulic Machines
1. Hydraulic Turbines :- It is device which convert Fluid energy to Mechanical
Energy. Example:- Pelton wheel, Kaplan and Francis Turbines.
2. Hydraulic Pumps :- It is device which convert Mechanical(prime mover) energy to Fluid Energy. Example:- Centrifugal and Reciprocating pumps(for basic level).
